Inlays and Onlays in Brampton

If your teeth are damaged, your dentist may recommend using inlays and onlays to restore them. Inlays and onlays are single solid pieces fabricated in the dental lab and designed to perfectly fit the damaged portion of the tooth. They are colour-matched to your existing teeth, so they blend well for a completely natural look.

What Is the Difference Between an Inlay and an Onlay?

Your dentist will recommend an inlay or an onlay, depending on where your tooth is damaged. If the damage affects only a single cusp of the tooth, they will suggest an onlay. If, however, the damage occurs between two cusps, they will recommend an onlay instead.

Should I Get an Onlay or a Crown?

Onlays are used to repair a single cusp, while a dental crown is preferred when the extent of the damage to the tooth is much greater. Your dentist will discuss the options with you and suggest a treatment plan that is suitable to restore your damaged tooth.
